Groningen-Tianjin European Base Visiting and Training Program Has Been Started

A group of 9 medical experts and scholars who were selected by Tianjin Public Health Bureau and Tianjin Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau have been sent to Groningen to attend a one-month European Base Visiting and Training Program. From October 13th to November 8th, 2014, the group will study medical related courses and visit medical environment in Groningen, Rotterdam and Maastricht respectively. This training program was organized among Tianjin Public Health Bureau, Tianjin Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau and SEMICO Foundation.

In the morning of October 13th, the official kickoff meeting of this training program was held by chairman SEMICO in Health Ageing Campus, Groningen. This one-month training program was divided into three phases. During the first two weeks, the group in Groningen visited Service Center LifeLines and the LifeStore and studied medical lessons such as Medical Innovation and Future research field, Scientific research during residency, Healthcare Finance and Funding System, LifeLines and the Advance of Medical Research. For the rest two weeks the group are going to Rotterdam and Maastricht to get medical training lessons.

Sino-European Delegation Concludes Successful Visit to China


Chairman Semico Prof.dr. Ning Qu, chairman NEVI Zorg Drs. Hans Bax and world known supply chain management expert Prof.dr. D-J Kamann visited Tianjin, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hangzhou and Shanghai together in the form of foundation delegation from April 7th to 18th, 2014. During this visit, the delegation cooperated with Tianjin University to hold summit forum, paid a visit to Tianjin Zhongbei High-Tech Park, Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Zone, Huawei Shenzhen headquarters, Zhuhai Medical & Caring Combined Elder People Hospital and Shanghai International Medical Center. Through this visit, the communication in medical, technology and education fields between China and Europe was greatly enhanced, which laid a stronger foundation for Semico in exploring innovation and co-operation in the areas of Sino-European medical, technology and education.

In the moring of April 8th, the delegation participated the Sino-European International Summit Forum of Organization Operation and Management in Beiyang Lecture Hall of Tianjin University and gave three speech for around 100 lecturers and students from Tianjin University. Chairman Semico Prof.dr. Ning Qu presented the emerging of China, how the Chinese civilization develop, rise and step to the forefront of the world powers at the Western Scholar point of view, and then focused on how China should efficiently and optimally position itself in the path to world leader. Prof.dr. D-J Kamann introduced in his speech that a method to create an innovative supply base by using terms like life styles and concepts for consumer products and solutions for business-to-business products. Drs. Hans Bax's lecture discussed the current challenges in Dutch healthcare, the strategic choices available for Dutch hospitals and the impact of the selected organizational strategy on procurement and supply chain management. The forum got great attention from Tianjin Foreign Expert Bureau, Tianjin Foreign Affair Bureau and Tianjin Public Health Bureau.

During the afternoon of the same day, the delegation arrived in Tianjin Zhongbei High-Tech Park and was received by the town mayor of Zhongbei Town. Both sides made a productive discussion on medical research and industry cooperation and innovation, and reached a preliminary agreement on developing future medical research and serious gaming.

On April 9th, the delegation left for Shenzhen to visit Huawei Shenzhen Headquater and meet with Huawei Health Project Director. On the following day, they arrived in Zhuhai and visited local medical & caring combined Elder People Hospital, and got warm attention from Zhuhai government and media.

After that, chairman Semico came to Hangzhou Qianjiang Economic Development Zone on April 14th to discuss the co-operation possibilities regarding to establish an industrial zone that has great impact on the future of Chinese healthcare and Chinese life science industry. After visiting in Hangzhou, the chairman was invited to visit Shanghai International Medical center on April 15th, and then this China visit came to the end.

Groningen Healthcare/UMCG (SEMICO and Healthy Ageing & Public Health), Groningen Government (city mayor of Groningen) and city mayor of Oldenburg formed an official delegation to visit Tianjin Public Health Bureau from October 31st to November 5th, 2013 with the aim of tightening up the relationship with Tianjin and exploring co-operation possibilities.
